Don Blount |
|
|
Don Blount served in the U. S. Navy as a bosun’s mate seaman apprentice on the DD868 Brownson Destroyer. Upon completion of his service, he volunteered at lake Mattamuskeet, and worked in the lumber industry. His career opportunities also led him to commercial fishing and later he worked for the Department of Health in Raliegh, North Carolina.
Mr. Blount now serves as the Vice Commander of the Beaufort County Chapter 48 DAV. His involvement in the chapter is of great importance and he is a vital part of its organization. Thank you for a job well done.. |

May 24, 1944 - December 13, 2023
Steve was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving aboard the destroyer USS Spear DD770 as a radarman. He continued to serve his country in the US Navy Reserve for a total of 25 years and 8 months of service. Steve was a lifetime member of Vietnam Veterans Association Branch 272, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 48, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6088, where he had served in the past as commander and quartermaster..
