Hello to all of our sisters and brothers in arms and welcome to the New Year! Although we are still receiving promised donations, we have been able to secure a contract for 2 new vans- yeah! We will have both a 7 passenger van and a 12 passenger van to transport our Veterans to and from appointments in Biloxi and Pensacola from as far away as Panama City. We are planning to accept delivery in April of this year. We hope to have pictures of the new vans and our drivers as soon as we can line them up!
We have many things to volunteer for coming up in our area soon and recently donated $200 to Manna Food Bank to assist in feeding those of our community in need. We also recently partnered with a local charitable organization to receive books to donate to areas where our Veterans will enjoy and appreciate them.
The next service to remember unaccompanied Veterans that were buried in Barrancas National Cemetery on NAS Pensacola for the past 90 days is January 31, 2019 @ 0800. Please come to honor those who had no one there when they were interred- that could be any one of us at any time, even one of the 22 a day. The service lasts for about 40 minutes and includes the names read, service, and rank if known. It is a humbling ceremony and one you shouldn't miss!
