May 2023 new banner with old style seal Connecticut Veteran Charged with Making Threats to West Haven VA Facility, Members of Congress, Other Federal Employees 1/11/2024 2:00 PM EDT Aubrey Rose, Jr., of Hartford, Connecticut, was arrested on a federal criminal complaint charging him with making threats against the VA Medical Center in West Haven, certain US members of Congress, and other federal employees. The offense carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years. It is alleged that on March 7, 2023, Rose sent a threatening email to the Defense Finance Accounting Service and to the offices of members of Congress. In the email, he asked for a formal appeal of his military pay and stated that he would respond with violence if action was not taken. On December 20, 2023, Rose entered the VA medical facility in West Haven wearing a tactical vest and carrying a bullhorn. As VA police officers followed him, he stated he would return with a weapon. Then Rose went to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New Haven office and told an agent that if he did not get assistance from the VA, he would return with a firearm. The VA OIG, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service, and the VA Police are investigating this case.
