Honor Flight
Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices. We transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.
 
Veterans Air Lift
The VAC provides free air transportation to post 9/11 combat wounded and their families for medical and other compassionate purposes through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.

omes for Our Troops is strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious injuries since September 11, 2001. Blinded Veterans Association
he mission of the CFC, as stated by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. MA RMV Veteran Plates
to Obtain Veterans' Plates:

You must present one of the following documents to a full service RMV office to verify your veteran status:

    Honorable Discharge, DD-214, Release from Active Duty paperwork

In addition to the verification listed above, you will need a copy of your current registration (if applicable), a signed and stamped RMV1 form from your insurance agent (if a newly purchased vehicle), or a signed and stamped RMV3 form from your insurance agent (if acquiring Veterans' plates on an existing registration), and the appropriate fee.

Fees:

    Initial Registration Fee:$50
    Special Plate Fee:$40
    Renewal Fee: $90 every 2 years

Proceeds from the special plate fee for this plate go to the Chelsea and Holyoke Soldier's Homes.

MA State Education for Veterans
The Department of Higher Education is designated by law as the State Approving Agency (SAA) responsible for approving and supervising programs at educational institutions and training establishments in Massachusetts which offer education and training to veterans and other eligible persons under the Veterans Education Assistance Program.

eBenefits is a portal; a central location for Veterans, Service Members, and their families to research, find, access, and, in time, manage their benefits and personal information.

eBenefits offers:

    A personalized workspace called My Dashboard that provides quick access to eBenefits tools. Using eBenefits tools, you can complete various tasks. You can apply for benefits, download your DD 214, view your benefits status, in addition to other actions as needed. This workspace is available to you once you have created an eBenefits account.

Haverhill, MA Veteran Services
The mission of the Department of Veterans' Services is to advocate on behalf of all the Commonwealth's veterans and provide them with quality support services and to direct an emergency financial assistance program for those veterans and their dependents who are in need.

Under Chapter 115 of Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L. ch. 115), the Commonwealth provides a uniform program of financial and medical assistance for indigent veterans and their dependents. Qualifying veterans and their dependents receive necessary financial assistance for food, shelter, clothing, housing supplies, and medical care in accordance with a formula which takes into account the number of dependants and income from all sources. Eligible dependents of deceased veterans are provided with the same benefits as they would were the veteran still living.

Transportation - is offered to eligible Haverhill residents to the   following VA Hospitals by appointment only - Jamaica Plains, West Roxbury, Bedford Va Hospital, Lowell VA clinic . Call  Betty Burnell 978374-2351 ext 10  for appointments.
