FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HASTINGS, Minn.- October 7 (The Langenfeld Foundation) -- Former Vikings Tell Disabled: "Climb on My Back".

The Langenfeld Foundation is pleased to announce, Minnesota Vikings legends Chuck Foreman and Stu Voigt are back in the game--this time for charity. The two former Super Bowl players will be present at The Langenfeld Foundation's 2014 Fundraiser Banquet. That event is Saturday, October 25, 6-9 PM, at Bearpath Golf and Country Club, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Everyone is invited to attend and meet them personally. Please register at: TheLangenfeldFoundation@gmail.com.

In addition to each playing in three Super Bowls, Voigt was a rock or perseverance, playing in the NFL for 20 years. Foreman played in five consecutive Pro Bowls, and was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1973.

You may come and meet them yourself, and get an autographed football or mini helmet in the Silent Auction. More spectacular yet, in the Live Auction, you could win a dinner or round of golf for four people, with these football greats, in our Live Auction.

Paul Scott Langenfeld, who created The Langenfeld Foundation in 2006, commented, "We are very fortunate to have such prestigous football names like Foreman and Voigt associated with The Langenfeld Foundation. Fans admired their performance on the grid iron, but now, their image is being polished to a shine by involvement with charity. These two are as rough and tough as men can be, but inside is a heart of gold."

Langenfeld went on to say, "When I started this nonprofit, I began to see people's good side more and more. Getting to know Chuck and Stu outside of football made me respect them as men, not just players. Especially when they are so willing to give their time to help people with special needs and disabled veterans. It tells you something about what really matters to them."

In addition to these Celebrity Guests, you will meet some Guests of Honor who the foundation benefits; meaning, wounded warriors who were injured in service of our country, and special people with developmental disabilities. As well as their family members and caregivers (who we cannot thank enough).

Retired Army Staff Sergeant Patrick Zeigler will be the Featured Speaker for the night. Zeigler served honorably in Operation Iraqi Freedom, but then, after safely returning to the U.S., was shot in the head at the Fort Hood massacre, on November 5, 2009. Including, one bullet directly to the right side of his head at close range: shattering his skull. (For over eight months Patrick looked death in the face and refused to blink.)

Patrick lost 20-30% of his brain, but survived and today lives life to his fullest. The Langenfeld Foundation's Wounded Warrior Outreach mission escorted Patrick and his wife/caregiver on an African safari this past August. You will hear stories and see pictures from that trip.

The 2014 recipient of the Award for Outstanding Achievement is Fr. Robert White. He is the Pastor of St. Victoria Parish Family, in Victoria, Minnesota; a community of over 1,200 families. In addition to caring for that large number of people, he also volunteers his time at Holy Family Catholic High School, as well as on Cursillo and TEC retreats. In 2006, he wrote and published a book on Biblical Economics. Fr. Bob is an avid athlete: biking, running, and weight lifting. (He once raised pledges for St. Victoria's by swimming across 10 lakes in the SW Metro area.) And, by the way, Fr. Bob does all this as a blind man.

Another special feature of the night will be the Premier of The Langenfeld Foundation's new TV show: No Greater Love. This is a 30-minute program sharing the stories of the foundation and the people we benefit. The pilot episode is scheduled to debut on Veteran's Day, November 11, but you can be the first to see it at our banquet. Register now at: TheLangenfeldFoundation@gmail.com.

The Langenfeld Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, benefiting special people with special needs, wounded warriors, and schoolchildren in Africa. They are a local Minnesota charity now in their ninth year, with over 1,000 donating members and over 200 supporting business organizations.

They have received prestegious awards from: Congressman John Kline, the University of St. Thomas, the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club, and the Congress of the United States of America. Learn more at www.thelangenfeldfoundation.org.
