I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! -Our next membership meeting is Tuesday March 3, 2020. We will be holding nominations of officers for 2020/21. Please play a part in contributing to your Chapter. - Thank you to Theresa Homan for once again organizing a children’s toy collection for Ronald McDonald House. Tom & Theresa also delivered all the toys, which were received with much joy and gratitude by the children and parents. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause! -We will not be having steak nights in the next two months; in January, and the 4th Friday in February is the start of the Lenten fish fry. They will resume on Friday April 24, 2020. -Ash Wednesday is February 26th and the fish fry starts February 28th through April 10th. We all know what that means – 7 weeks of fun filled fish frying! I hope everyone that helped out last year can do so this year; we had a great crew -Thank you to all of our volunteers who gave so much of their time in 2019. -Here’s to a great 2020! They usually last just 30-40 minutes each month. At our December meeting the Department Auxiliary Commander and Sr. Vice Commander were here. It was fun for everyone to meet both of them. -The Lenten fish fry starts on Friday February 28th. Please plan to attend and/or volunteer! -Our next membership meeting is Tuesday March 3, 2020 @6 PM. -Happy Valentines Day! -Meeting months for 2020: March, April, June, July, August, and December. The meeting is at 6:00 pm. -God bless our active duty military and all of our veterans. Judy Collins MEETING MONTHS FOR 2020: The Membership meetings are six (6) times a year. MONTHS: MARCH APRIL JUNE JULY AUGUST DECEMBER Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the designated month at 6:00 PM. Meeting months for the Executive Committee: February, March, May, June, July, and November, and are held the last Wednesday of the month at 4:00 pm. DAV SERVICE OFFICER, MIKE JACKMAN, WILL BE AT THE CHAPTER HOUSE FROM 9AM TO 1200 NOON THE FIRST AND THIRD THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH TO ASSIST IN FILING DISABILITY CLAIMS. MIKE WILL ACCEPT “WALK-IN'S" OR YOU CAN MAKE AN APPOINTMENT BY CALLING THE OFFICE @402-731-4088. As always, you can still receive assistance from the DAV National Service Officer in Lincoln, @1-402-420-4025. DAV Chapter #47 in Bellevue also has service officers at the Military Veterans Center on the University of Bellevue campus. Walk-ins welcome or call 402-557-7822 for an appointment, or Department Adjutant/DSO Jamie Jakub @402-270-9638. Assistance is also available at the VA Hospital on Tuesdays, 10 am to 5 pm, and Fridays, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. OFFICE HOURS: -Office hours are 9:00 am to NOON Tuesday and Thursday, and 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday. LOUNGE INFORMATION: Food will be served in the lounge for Nebraska games played BEFORE 5:00 pm. MEMORIAL BRICKS FOR SALE: The Chapter sells memorial bricks for $75 each. DAV and DAVA members and their families may purchase these memorials for living or deceased individuals. The bricks will be on sale all year. -Maximum of 14 spaces per line, 3 lines. -Return the following form to the Chapter in person or by mail.
