DAV: FULFILLING OUR PROMISES TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED
Announcements: Duties of Chapter Chaplain

Title

Duties of Chapter Chaplain

Body

Duties of the Chapter Chaplain First off I'm responsible for leading the Chapter in our opening prayer and also for our closing prayer at all of our meetings. I'm the spiritual leader of the chapter and I'm also responsible to represent the chapter at funeral services for any of our members that have passed. I also provide spiritual comfort to the families of those members, send sympathy cards and offer my services to the surviving family members for counseling if needed. I visit any members who are ill and either in the hospital or at home recovering. I offer assistance to family members of the member with any other needs, such as mobility assistance, help procure assistance from the county for heating and utility costs and how to receive food supplies from local food banks. I make myself available to any Veteran in our chapter or not to assist them in any needs that they may encounter. I hope this answers your question about my activities. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions or concerns. Feel free to edit any of this. For God and Country, Gary LoPinto The above is a summary of the Chaplaincy duties of the Chapter. This is a very important part of our services to our comrades whether in the Chapter or not. But this mission cannot be accomplished by one person by his or herself. As members we all need to assist the Chaplain in any way possible including notifying the Chaplain about members in need of services, volunteering to represent the Chapter in Funeral Services, doing visitations to members as well as participating in DAVA Facility visits, etc.
