District 10 Commander Jim Kaster (Chapter 3 member) and member's wife Claire O'Rouke spent Memorial Day with a group of athletes at the Narrow Road Crossfit Gym in Marion Ohio. Over $900.00 was raised that day and than donated to Chapter 3
The event is called "The Murph" in memory of Michael Murphy. Michael Patrick "Murph" Murphy was a United States Navy SEAL officer who was awarded the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the War in Afghanistan. He was the first member of the U.S. Navy to receive the award since the Vietnam War. His other posthumous awards include the Silver Star Medal and the Purple Heart. Jim spent time with the group that day and informed them about the DAV and what the organization does to help veterans.
Jim and Claire really enjoyed themselves.
