The Wall That Heals
The Wall That Heals exhibit features a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The replica is 375 feet in length and stands 7.5 feet high at its tallest point. Visitors experience The Wall rising above them as they walk towards the apex, a key feature of the design of The Wall in D.C.

DEEDS OF VALOR [an I.R.S. 503 (c)(3),  tax exempt charity] was created to honor the memory of the Men and Women of Florence, OR who have served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.. Approximately 22 % of the citizens of our town are veterans. 
The General Ben King Veterans Memorial Gateway is located at the entrance to the Florence Municipal Airport and is named after

General Ben King who was a fighter pilot ace in World War II and spent his last years in our community.
The Memorial is also located adjacent to the Oregon Coast Military Museum which was established as a place to display the memorabilia and history of our many.
