DAV: FULFILLING OUR PROMISES TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED DAV, Department of South Carolina recognizes National Wild Turkey Federation's outreach
Charles Pettigrew, Commander of the Department of South Carolina, Disabled American Veterans, visited the National Wild Turkey Federation's or (NWTF's) last November to present a citation of appreciation for the NWTF's work to enrich the lives of disabled veterans in the Palmetto State.  The NWTF has long supported our nation's veterans and strengthened its commitment to them through a Memorandum of Understanding with the DAV during the department's national convention last August.  Since then, the two national nonprofit organizations have worked cooperatively to provide outdoor recreational opportunities for disabled veterans through Wheelin' Sportsmen.  " I can't think of a more perfect match to serve the disabled community - the NWTF's 2,500 chapters and the DAV's nearly 2,000 chapters.  Think of what we can accomplish across America by working together," said NWTF COO Carl Brown.  "There's a tremendous need to lend our support to the injured who are returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as those who have previously served.  This partnership is making great strides toward helping those brave men and women."
