DAV: FULFILLING OUR PROMISES TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED Pennsylvania partnership between National Wild Turkey Federation and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers yields success
From the Winter 2008, Official Pubilcation of the Wheelin' Sportsmen Magazine.

More than 100 members of the Terrace Mountian Chapter of the NWTF, (National Wild Turkey Federation), partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to host the Chris Bowser Wheelin' Sportsmen Hunt at Raystown Lake in central Pennsylvania.  Thirty-five hunters participated in the sixth annual event that helps the Corps manage its deer herd, providing valuable information about the herd's overall condition.

During the December 2007 hunt, every hunter saw deer while afield, and 17 deer were harvested.

The hunt, named for its founder, Chris Bowser, a wildlife biologist and hunter with disability, began with only four hunters the first year.  But thanks to the overwhelming support from volunteers and donations from local businesses, organizations and individuals, the event has grown each year.
