1) CCAC has begun a Barber Program. In this program individuals will basically be educated on barbering. By their graduation from this program they will be liscensed barbers. The contact for this is Brenda Bradford (412)371-1600.
2) Career and Workforce Development at Homewood-Brushton YMCA has a program entitled Community Voice Mail. This is a free service that offers individuals a phone number to receive messages from employers, doctors or whoever they would need to be in contact with. This service only lasts for 60 or 90 days. It is just in place to help the individual get back on their feet. Number to call for qualification is 412-241-2811 x37.
3) Pa. Board of Probation and Parole will be hosting the 6th Annual get back to work help fair. The dates for these events are March 18, 2009 @ 2pm and March 19, 2009 @ 12pm. The location for these events are Trinity Lutheran Church, W. North Ave. & Buena Vista Northside of Pittsburgh. A two day registration is required. Basically at this event they will help individuals convicted of a crime locate housing, get a job and manage D&A issues. The contact is Carena Phillips 412-241-2811 x35.
