W. R. Hold Chapter 147

Chapter Commander Theron Johnson and  BG. Peter Devlin, Canadian Army , who is Deputy Commanding General of III Corps and Fort Hood. Just before he deployed to Iraq, Devlin was promoted to Major General. He attended dinner held at the chapter home. 

Chapter Commander Theron Johnson presented LTG. Raymond Odierno with some gag gifts before his departure for Iraq. LTG. Odierno is the Commanding General of III Corps and Fort Hood. He attended a dinner held by the Chapter and Auxiliary.

Commander Theron Johnson receives a Certificate of Appreciation from Chaplain Edmond Jones. Johnson has served as Commander for 19 years.

The W.R. Hold Chapter 147 is the host for the Wreaths Across America program for the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery located at Killeen, Texas

The W.R. Hold Unit 147 Auxiliary Officers for 2012-2013 term

BG. Ptere Atkinson of Canada, who is Deputy Commanding General of III Corps and Fort Hood is presented a plaque for his service to Canada and the United States by Commander Theron Johnson.

Brenda Johnson is presented an award for her support of the Chapter as a non-member over many years by Commander Johnson

Alfredo N. Rios, Regina Foster, Michael D. Smith from  the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center of Fort Hood except 360 comfort kits donated by the W.R. Hold Chapter 147.  Present were Pam Jones, Chapter Judge Advocate and Edmond Jones , Chapter Chaplain.

The Axuiliary Unit 147 treated the Chapter 147 to a BBQ catered dinner and purchased this cake  on Sasturday 23 January 2010

The new officers elected or appointed on 26 April 2010

The fence around the chapter property has been installed and gates put in place. These lots were donated to the W.R. Hold Chapter 147. Other improvements are planned.

Commander Theron Johnson presents a plaque to the Manager of the Killeen Golden Corral for their support of the Disabled American Veterans with Military Appreciation Night every November.  On right is Senior Vice Commander James Rominger

W.R. Hold Chapter 147 Commander recieves Certificate of Appreciation from District III Commander Britt Gordon for the Chapter hosting the District III Convention 27-29 April 2012 at the Shilo Hotel.

US Flags on grave sites for Memorial Day 2008 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. This is area where ashes are buried in the ground.  Chapter 147 has donated flags  for the past 2 years, which has amounted to over 2,000 8"x12" flags.

The Wreaths Across America are passing out cards to active duty anerans to mark Military Appreciation Month 2010. Commander Johnson is Volunteer Coordinator for the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Nation wide they hope to hand out 500,000 cards.

Theron L. Johnson was elected again as Chapter Commander for 2011-2012. This starts his 21st. year as Chapter Commander. He had a one year break in 1994. Also served as District III Commander in 1992-1993

Roy Johnson, not a DAV member was awarded by Chapter Commander Johnson for his support of Chapter events over many years.
