Veterans Day Observance at Bourne Cemetery 
Date: Sunday, November 4th, 2012.      Time:  The Observance begins at 1:00 PM but parking can be difficult. For this reason we suggest that you be there at 11:30. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs. 
          Address:   Connery Avenue  Bourne, MA 02532
Directions:   Cemetery is equal distance from Logan Airport, Boston, Mass., and T. F. Green Airport, Providence R.I. From Logan Airport, take the Ted Williams Tunnel to Interstate 93 south. Follow Interstate 93 south to Interstate 24 south. Follow Interstate 24 south and exit on Interstate 495 south, which continues, into Route 25 east. Go over the Bourne Bridge – at base of bridge there is a rotary – go ½ way around rotary onto Route 28 south toward Falmouth. Continue on Route 28 south approximately four miles to a second rotary. Go ¾ way around the rotary you will see the sign leading to Massachusetts Military Reservation. Exit the rotary at this point. Entrance to cemetery is approximately ½ mile from the rotary. From T. F. Green airport take Interstate 95 North to Providence and then exit on Interstate 195 east. Follow Interstate 195 east and exit on 25 east (follow signs to Cape Cod). Go over the Bourne Bridge then follow directions above.
 
Department Executive Committee Meeting
Date:  Saturday, November 10th.  Location: Braintree Chapter 29,  Liberty Street, Braintree, MA 02184      Time:   Refreshments at 10:00 am and the meeting immediately
following at 11:00 AM. Please mark this on your calendars.
         
We will be discussing many issues that could affect your chapters so you will want to make sure you have a representative from your chapter there.

Veterans' Day Celebration at the State House
Date: Sunday, November 11th, 2012    Time:    10AM-11:30AM   Location: Massachusetts State House, Memorial Hall. 24 Beacon Street, Boston MA 02111
 Join the Massachusetts Department of Veterans' Services along with distinguished guests and speakers in celebrating Veterans Day at the State House. **OPEN TO THE PUBLIC**

DAV Day
 
            Sunday December 2nd, 2012 has been designated DAV Day in Massachusetts. We do not have all the details for you at this time from all of our VAVS Reps.
As soon as we have a complete schedule of events for that day we will send out another email to all of you. Please do not forget to ask your chapter to support
the Department with a donation for this most worthwhile day.
 
 
WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA CEREMONY
 
            Date: Monday, December 10, 2012     Location:   Massachusetts State House, Memorial Hall. 24 Beacon Street, Boston MA 02111     Time:  11:30AM
          Performing will be the Marine Color Guard and Dan Clark performing the National Anthem and other selections.
