Today, after many years of attempting to have the DEC’s Fall and Winter Meetings take place by teleconference, the Department succeeded. The south gathered at the Nevada Veterans Home in Boulder City and the North met at the NOVS Offices in Reno. NOVS Executive Director Caleb Cage made this a reality for us by letting the DAV use NOVS facilities in the north and the south. This action saves the Department thousands of dollars by not paying mileage, meals, hotels for the DEC, Service Commission, Finance Committee and others required to attend these meetings that took place in Tonopah Nevada. I see no reason why both Fall and Winter Meetings to continue this money saving venture, Teleconferencing.
I suggest that the Department send a formal thank you to Director Cage.
